Our city is famous by its changeable climate, white nights and winds. Surely, you should be prepared to face all the challenges.
First of all pack your luggage carefully. Rain sometimes comes out of the blue so don’t forget taking an umbrella. Weather changes can also bring some discomfort. Make sure you have a jacket and a solid pair of shoes, but still pack ordinary summer clothes in case it is hot and sunny. Comfortable footwear would be a good choice, too. You’ll definitely have to walk a lot.
White nights offer a great opportunity to wander around the city during your summer language course. You can explore the sights from a different side. Many tourists prefer taking boat trips along rivers and canals at night. These will undoubtedly impress you, but hopefully not with a cold. It can be very windy and damp so equip yourself with a plaid (as those offered on board may not be enough).
